Aurora, IN (June 10, 2026) – Two people were seriously hurt late on Tuesday night, June 9, following a head-on collision at the intersection of Indiana 350 and Shawnee Drive west of Aurora.
According to preliminary information, the two-vehicle crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Investigators said Robert Tingle, 56, of Aurora, was driving east on SR 350 when his car crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by Gary Smith, 45, of Moores Hill.
Both drivers were flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries. Emergency units assisted at the roadway while crews worked to clear the damaged vehicles and gather evidence.
Early findings suggest alcohol and/or drugs may have contributed to the wreck. Additional details about the collision had not been released at the time of publication. Police are still working to determine all factors that led to the nighttime roadway crash.
