Why Wrong-Way Collisions May Result in Severe Injuries?
Wrong-way collisions frequently involve head-on or nearly head-on impacts, which can produce severe forces because both vehicles may be traveling at highway speeds. Investigators typically review how the wrong-way vehicle entered the roadway, traffic signs, roadway markings, lighting conditions, and any available surveillance or traffic camera footage to establish the sequence of events.
Crash investigators also examine vehicle damage, tire marks, electronic data, and witness statements while reconstructing the collision. These findings are combined with roadway evidence and medical information to better understand the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash and identify any contributing factors.
