Why Intersection Collisions Frequently Lead to Injuries
Intersection crashes are common because multiple directions of traffic cross paths within a limited space. Drivers must make quick decisions involving traffic signals, turning movements, and surrounding vehicles, which can increase the likelihood of a collision.
Investigators typically review traffic light timing, vehicle speed, and right-of-way rules after a crash at a busy intersection. Damage patterns and roadway evidence may help determine how the vehicles entered the crossing and where contact occurred.
Even when injuries are not considered life-threatening, collisions at intersections can still result in significant vehicle damage and traffic disruptions. Investigators may continue gathering witness statements and roadway evidence after the scene is cleared.
