Jasper County, MO (August 9, 2026) – Two drivers suffered serious injuries in a head-on crash and were hospitalized on Friday afternoon, August 7, on Garrison Avenue, about 2 miles south of Carthage. The collision occurred at approximately 3:13 p.m.
A 31-year-old Stella man was driving a 1995 Buick LeSabre southbound when the vehicle crossed the center of the roadway. The Buick collided head-on with a northbound 2017 Ford Fusion driven by a 50-year-old Webb City man. The impact sent the Ford off the right side of the roadway. The Buick overturned and also traveled off the right side.
Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene. Both drivers suffered serious injuries and were transported by EMS to Mercy Joplin for treatment. Our thoughts are with both drivers as they receive care and work toward recovery.
