Kalamazoo, MI (July 16, 2026) – Two people were hurt after a two-vehicle collision involving a Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officer on Portage St. before 9 a.m. on July 15. Both the officer and the other driver were taken to local hospitals for treatment, and the officer was later released.
A preliminary investigation found that the officer was not at fault. The police said the other driver was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic and for driving with a suspended license. The investigation into the crash is continuing as more information becomes available.
