What Should You Do After Being Struck by a Vehicle While Riding a Scooter?

People hurt while riding scooters can face injuries to their legs, knees, feet, arms, or head. After a scooter-related accident, medical attention may be needed even when injuries first appear minor. Cuts, bruises, and pain can sometimes become more noticeable later.

If it is safe to do so, photos of the scooter, vehicle, surrounding roadway, and visible injuries can help preserve information about what happened. Contact details for people who saw the accident may also be useful. Keeping records of medical visits and treatment can help document the recovery process.

Scooter riders should also check whether local traffic rules require helmets, lights, or other safety equipment. Following those rules and using visible clothing can reduce the risk of being overlooked by drivers.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.
