Amarillo, TX (September 2, 2026) – Two people were injured in a three-vehicle wreck near I-40 and FM 1912 on Tuesday afternoon, September 1.
The wreck involved two semi-trailers and an SUV. According to preliminary findings, one semi failed to control its speed and struck the SUV, which was pushed into another semi-trailer traveling ahead of it. Two people were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes had reopened by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the initial report. The investigation into the cause of the collision remains underway.
