According to dispatch information, the crash was reported at approximately 2:59 a.m. Initial reports indicated that three vehicles were involved, including a Chevrolet Tahoe that came to rest in the fast lane. Emergency units were requested after the call was upgraded to indicate injuries, and medical personnel were dispatched to the freeway.
Tow services were called to remove the damaged vehicles, and one party was moved off the freeway while crews worked to clear the roadway. By around 3:34 a.m., all traffic lanes had reopened. During the cleanup, several motorists reportedly drove along the right shoulder to avoid congestion, creating multiple near-miss situations.
