Carlsbad, CA (July 20, 2026) – Two children were reported hurt following a four-vehicle traffic accident on northbound I-5 near Tamarack Road in Carlsbad on July 17.
According to CHP reports, the crash was reported at approximately 6:23 p.m. The vehicles involved included a black BMW SUV, a black Mercedes SUV, a white Jeep, and a green Toyota SUV. All four vehicles were moved to the center divider after the initial traffic disruption.
The white Jeep was carrying a newborn and two other daughters. Dispatch notes indicated that two children in the Jeep complained of neck pain, prompting emergency units to begin medical assistance. The extent of their injuries has not been released, and no additional information about the people involved was immediately available. The cause of the collision remains under review as investigators continue gathering information.
