St. Louis, MO (September 10, 2026) – Two people were hurt after a collision on southbound I-55 north of MO-141. The collision occurred at about 9:22 p.m. on September 9.
A 17-year-old male from Barnhart was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier when another vehicle made an unsafe lane change through a construction zone. The other vehicle’s left front struck traffic cones and the right side of the Cavalier.
The Cavalier then traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a concrete barrier. The 17-year-old driver and an 18-year-old male occupant, both from Barnhart, were taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The other vehicle sustained minor damage and left the scene. The Cavalier was heavily damaged and removed from the roadway by a towing company. The identities of the people involved had not been released. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is still underway.
