San Diego, CA (July 30, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision slowed traffic on Thursday afternoon along eastbound I-8 at the southbound I-805 connector in San Diego.
According to CHP dispatch information, the vehicles involved were identified as a red sedan and a white Honda Accord. Both vehicles came to rest in the left lane of the transition roadway after the crash, prompting emergency units to assist and arrange for towing services.
All travel lanes reopened by about 3:18 p.m. after the disabled vehicles were removed. Initial dispatch updates later indicated the call was logged incorrectly and clarified that the wreck involved three to four vehicles rather than the original report of two. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined as the investigation continues.
