South El Monte, CA (July 30, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision disrupted traffic on the afternoon of July 28 along the eastbound lanes of SR-60 at the I-605 interchange in South El Monte. Initial reports received at about 12:52 p.m. indicated that a white pickup truck and a silver SUV were involved, with the SUV suffering major front-end damage.
Dispatch updates later identified the second vehicle as a green Honda CR-V. The damaged vehicles came to rest in the fast lane, blocking the No. 1 lane and creating traffic delays while emergency units worked to manage the roadway. A tow truck was requested to remove the vehicles after the roadway was secured.
