Mountain View, CA (August 6, 2026) – Two vehicles were involved in a traffic accident on August 6 on southbound US-101 just north of the SR-85 interchange in Mountain View. The California Highway Patrol first received reports of the crash at about 7:23 p.m., with unknown injuries initially reported.
The vehicles involved were identified as a white Toyota RAV4 and a green Volkswagen. Both came to rest on the right shoulder after blocking Lane 2 for a short time. By about 7:44 p.m., emergency units confirmed the two-vehicle wreck resulted in injuries, and all travel lanes were reopened. Tow trucks were later called to remove both vehicles from the roadway. The cause of the collision remains under review as investigators continue gathering information.
