Holland, MI (August 13, 2026) – A motorcyclist and passenger were seriously injured in a crash involving a fire truck at the intersection of 120th Avenue and Port Sheldon Street on Tuesday, August 11.
According to investigators, the crash occurred when a fire truck traveling through the intersection attempted a left turn and entered the path of an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the fire truck during the turn, causing both riders to be thrown from the bike.
The motorcyclist, a 32-year-old man from Hudsonville, and his passenger, a 29-year-old woman from Zeeland, both suffered serious injuries. Emergency responders transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials have not released updates on their current conditions.
The fire truck was being operated by a 45-year-old firefighter from Ottawa County. Authorities reported that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No injuries were reported among the fire crew. The crash remains under investigation as officials work to determine the exact sequence of events leading up to the collision.
