Springfield, MO (August 22, 2026) – Minor injuries were reported after two vehicles collided on Thursday evening at Highway D and Highway J, about five miles east of Springfield in Greene County. The incident occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. on August 20.
A 22-year-old Springfield man was driving a Ford Fusion westbound when he made a left turn into the path of a Ford Explorer traveling eastbound. The Explorer was driven by a 48-year-old Fordland woman. Ambulances took both drivers to Cox South for treatment.
The Fusion sustained extensive damage, while the Explorer had moderate damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The incident remains under review, and we hope both injured drivers recover quickly.
