Ogle County, IL (June 27, 2026) – Three people were hurt in a three-vehicle collision on Thursday morning on IL Rte 2 at the Grand Detour bridge south of Grand Detour, near Dixon. The roadway was temporarily closed following the crash, which was reported at about 8:15 a.m. on June 25.
Investigators said a Nissan driven by 69-year-old Suleman Zeciri of Oregon was traveling the wrong way in the northbound lane. An SUV driven by 44-year-old Tamara McCormick of Tampico swerved to avoid a head-on crash, but the Nissan struck the passenger side of the SUV.
The SUV spun into a guardrail before colliding with a second northbound vehicle driven by 37-year-old Jerry Hose of Oregon. Hose’s vehicle also struck the guardrail.
Zeciri, Hose, and a passenger in the SUV were taken to a hospital in Dixon with suspected minor injuries. Zeciri was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, no valid registration, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
