Moultrie County, IL (June 27, 2026) – A 19-year-old man lost his life after a two-vehicle accident on IL Rte 121 near County Rd 1600 E in Moultrie County on Thursday afternoon. The collision was reported at about 12:30 p.m.
The Illinois State Police said the two vehicles came together on the highway for reasons that have not yet been determined. Cameron Crowe, 19, of Sullivan, was pronounced dead at the roadway shortly after 1 p.m., according to the Moultrie County Coroner.
Crowe was a member of the Guardians baseball team in Taylorville for one season, and the team shared a message of condolence following his death. Information about the other vehicle and anyone else involved was not immediately released, but the circumstances surrounding the wreck continue to be investigated.
