DeKalb County, MO (August 9, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on Friday evening, August 7, around 5:30 p.m. on eastbound US 36 at Route M that injured four people. The collision occurred about one mile north of Osborn.
A 46-year-old woman was driving a 2025 Mazda CX-90 northbound on Route M and stopped at a posted stop sign. The driver failed to see an eastbound 2025 Nissan Altima approaching on US 36 and pulled into its path. Both vehicles then traveled off the north side of the highway. The Mazda driver suffered serious injuries. A 17-year-old girl riding in the Mazda was also injured, with minor injuries reported.
The Altima driver suffered moderate injuries, while a 16-year-old boy in the Nissan also suffered moderate injuries. All four people were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment. Both vehicles sustained total damage in the collision.
