The crash was reported around 7:22 a.m. and initially involved four vehicles. The vehicles were blocking lanes on northbound SR-79, prompting emergency crews to respond and traffic controls to be put in place.
The California Highway Patrol later changed the incident classification to a traffic collision involving minor injuries.
