Kingston Township, IL (July 9, 2026) – Five people were hurt on Tuesday, July 7, after an SUV rolled over several times following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Illinois Route 72 and Pleasant Hill Road in Kingston Township.
A 52-year-old woman from Davis Junction was driving a silver Chevrolet Suburban with four passengers when a white GMC Traverse entered the intersection and struck the rear driver’s side of the SUV. The force of the collision caused the Chevrolet to overturn multiple times before coming to rest.
All five people inside the Suburban, including a 64-year-old woman, were taken to nearby hospitals. Their injury severity was not released. The driver of the GMC, a woman from Roscoe, was uninjured and the vehicle’s only occupant.
According to the sheriff’s office, the GMC was traveling south on Pleasant Hill Road when its driver allegedly failed to obey a stop sign before entering Illinois Route 72. She was cited for the traffic violation.
The investigation into what led to the collision is continuing, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
