Acworth, GA (August 10, 2026) – A large speedboat participating in a poker run slammed into the shoreline of Lake Allatoona at high speed, seriously injuring all five people aboard on Saturday, August 8.
Game wardens were notified around 11:06 a.m. after the boat left the water and struck the shore, ejecting the occupants, who were transported to Kennestone Hospital in Cobb County. The names, ages, and genders of those injured were not released. Officials also did not provide their current conditions or identify the exact location of the crash on Lake Allatoona.
The cause of the watercraft crash has not been determined, but it remains under investigation by the Georgia DNR Law Enforcement Critical Incident Reconstruction Team.
