Bridgeview, IL (August 27, 2026) – Seven people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday, August 26, involving a white van and a semi-truck in Bridgeview.
Police said officers responded around 6:30 a.m. to the crash at Harlem Avenue and 71st Street. Six people inside the van were taken to hospitals, including two who were in critical condition.
The driver of the semi-truck was also hospitalized and was expected to be OK. Authorities had not immediately released additional information about the other patients’ conditions.
The crash prompted road closures in the area. Northbound lanes of 71st Street were closed, while police also blocked northbound Harlem Avenue at 79th Street as emergency crews remained at the scene.
