Medina County, OH (July 15, 2026) – A 79-year-old man died after a two-vehicle collision involving an SUV and a tractor-trailer in Westfield Township. The accident was reported at approximately 7:32 a.m. on Monday, July 13, at U.S. Route 224 and Buffham Road.
The vehicles involved were a 2015 Subaru driven by Crispin Vargas Jr. of Lodi and a semi operated by a 66-year-old man. Emergency units took Vargas to Lodi Hospital, where he later lost his life from his injuries.
The truck driver was not hurt. No additional information about the roadway closure or vehicle damage was included in the initial report. Authorities continue examining the evidence to determine the full sequence of events leading to the wreck.
