Why ATV-Related Roadway Injuries Can Be Severe for Children
ATVs are built differently from regular passenger vehicles. They usually have open seating, higher centers of gravity, and fewer protective barriers around riders. Because of this, even a brief roadway contact can lead to serious harm.
Children may face added risks because their bodies are still developing. Their size can affect how seat position, balance, and protective gear work during a sudden stop or fall. A helmet and proper safety equipment may reduce danger, but they cannot prevent every injury.
Two-vehicle roadway emergencies involving ATVs frequently require careful medical checks. Some injuries may not be clear right away, especially after a strong jolt. Doctors may look for head trauma, broken bones, internal harm, and breathing issues before deciding the next steps in care.
