Belleville, IL (August 18, 2026) – An 88-year-old woman died from her injuries after a two-vehicle wreck at South Illinois Street and South Belt on Monday morning, August 17, according to Belleville police. Officers responded around 9:04 a.m. Three people in total were taken to the hospital.
The woman, a passenger in one of the vehicles, later died. Details about the other two people injured and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
