Baldwin, GA (August 18, 2026) – A woman died on Tuesday after her Chevrolet Tahoe crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming semi head-on while both vehicles negotiated a curve on Willingham Avenue just north of Dallas Drive, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Troopers were notified around 10:15 a.m.
The truck driver sounded his air horn and steered toward the right shoulder in an attempt to avoid the crash, but the truck’s right side struck the guardrail before the Tahoe hit it head-on in the northbound lane. The impact spun the Tahoe counterclockwise, leaving it blocking the southbound lane, while the truck came to rest near the point of impact.
The Tahoe’s driver was trapped and freed by first responders, but was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released. Whether anyone else was hurt has not been confirmed.
