Placerville, CA (January 2, 2026) – Two people were injured and hospitalized following a late-night traffic collision on New Year’s Day in Placerville, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Pleasant Valley Rd, just west of Holm Rd. Emergency responders arrived to find two vehicles involved in the crash with major damage, blocking the roadway in both directions.
The driver of one vehicle reported back pain and was transported to Marshall Hospital for further evaluation. A passenger from one of the vehicles also sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital, though the extent of their condition was not immediately released.
Both vehicles were removed from the scene by a tow due to the severity of the damage. Officials with CHP are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision.
