Cajon Pass, CA (January 4, 2026) – Three people were injured on Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass area, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 3:37 p.m. on the southbound side of the interstate near the Kenwood Avenue exit.
Emergency responders from San Bernardino County Fire and CHP units arrived on scene and located a heavily damaged silver Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck that had veered off the roadway. According to the preliminary investigation, the truck hydroplaned due to heavy rain and slick conditions, causing the driver to lose control.
The vehicle struck an embankment in the center median and overturned several times before coming to a rest. Paramedics provided care to all three occupants of the vehicle, who were later confirmed to have sustained minor injuries. Each was treated at the scene or transported for further evaluation as a precaution.
Southbound traffic along I-15 was impacted during the response as officials cleared the debris and documented the crash. Authorities noted that inclement weather and reduced traction likely contributed to the accident. No other vehicles were involved.
The CHP continues to investigate the incident and reminds all drivers to use extra caution when traveling in wet or hazardous conditions. Our thoughts are with the individuals injured in this crash, and we hope for their full recovery.
