Los Angeles, CA (January 5, 2026) – A morning crash in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles resulted in injuries and significant delays at the intersection of South Occidental Boulevard and West 3rd Street on Friday.
The incident occurred shortly before 7:00 a.m., during peak commuter hours, when at least two vehicles collided in the busy intersection. Witnesses reported a loud impact followed by the arrival of emergency units within minutes.
Those injured in the collision were assisted on-site by paramedics, who provided immediate care and arranged transport for at least one victim requiring further medical treatment. The injuries sustained were described as varied in nature, though officials confirmed none appeared to be life-threatening at the time of response.
Traffic in the area was slowed considerably as crews worked to secure the intersection, clear damaged vehicles, and begin an investigation into what caused the crash. The area around S Occidental Blvd and W 3rd St was affected for over an hour.
The Los Angeles Police Department is handling the investigation, with initial efforts focused on determining whether signal violations or unsafe turns may have contributed to the collision.
