San Francisco, CA (January 5, 2026) – A car crash late Thursday night at the intersection of Mission Street and Persia Avenue resulted in multiple injuries and brought a strong response from emergency personnel in San Francisco’s Excelsior District.
The collision occurred around 11:34 p.m., involving at least two vehicles in the busy intersection near residential and commercial properties. The force of the crash caused significant vehicle damage and briefly disrupted traffic in the area.
Emergency medical teams arrived quickly and provided on-site treatment to those injured. Several individuals were evaluated for a variety of injuries, and at least one was transported to a nearby hospital for additional care. The conditions of those involved have not yet been released.
Authorities closed off parts of Mission St and Persia Ave while first responders worked to clear the scene and begin a formal investigation. Traffic was rerouted for a short time before normal flow resumed.
The San Francisco Police Department is investigating the crash and examining whether speed, distraction, or traffic violations played a role.
