Hampton, VA (January 5, 2026) – Emergency personnel responded to a crash involving injuries late Sunday night inside the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel on Interstate 64 eastbound. The collision was reported at approximately 11:58 p.m. on January 4 and prompted a high-priority response from Hampton Fire-Rescue units.
According to dispatch audio, Medic One and Battalion One were among the crews called to the scene to assist those injured. Specific details on how many vehicles were involved or the nature of the injuries have not been released, but authorities confirmed that medical treatment was provided to drivers hurt in the crash.
The incident occurred on January 4 and temporarily disrupted traffic through the tunnel as responders worked to manage the scene and care for the injured. All affected lanes have since been reopened.
