Fallon, NV (January 7, 2026) – A fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle occurred at U.S. Highway 50 near Gummow Dr in Fallon, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The tragic incident was reported around 5:57 p.m. on January 6.
Responding officers and medical personnel arrived swiftly at the scene. Despite their efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead on-site. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the location and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Due to the severity of the crash, westbound lanes of U.S. 50 were closed between Bottom Rd and Gummow Dr. Eastbound lanes remain open, but drivers traveling through the area were warned to expect delays, lane restrictions, or possible rolling closures for several hours following the incident.
The Nevada State Police – Highway Patrol Division is handling the investigation, and no further identifying details have been released pending next-of-kin notification.
