What Factors Can Lead to Pedestrian Crashes on Local Roads
Pedestrian crashes on local roads can happen when drivers and pedestrians share space without clear separation. Visibility, traffic speed, and roadway design all influence how these incidents occur.
Afternoon hours can bring increased activity, with more vehicles and people moving through neighborhoods. This can raise the chances of a collision, especially in areas without marked crossings or signals.
Driver awareness and pedestrian caution both play a role in reducing risk. Slowing down and staying alert in residential or mixed-use areas can help prevent serious incidents.
