Liverpool, NY (January 7, 2026) – A traffic collision with injuries was reported on Wednesday morning on Interstate 81 South near the 7th North St interchange in the town of Salina, just outside Liverpool in Onondaga County. The crash, which occurred on January 7, prompted a response from local fire, EMS, and law enforcement units.
Emergency responders arrived on scene to find at least one individual injured and in need of medical attention. Paramedics treated the victim on-site and arranged for transport to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The exact number of vehicles involved and the severity of the injuries have not yet been confirmed.
The collision caused traffic disruptions along I-81 South as authorities closed portions of the roadway to assist the injured and clear the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
