St. Louis, MO (January 8, 2026) – Three people were injured on Wednesday evening in a rear-end collision on westbound Interstate 70 just west of Airport Road in St. Louis County. The crash occurred around 5:55 p.m. and involved a Ford Focus and a Toyota Tundra traveling in the same direction.
According to Troop C of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2012 Ford Focus failed to adjust to traffic conditions and was unable to stop in time, striking the rear of a 2019 Toyota Tundra. The impact caused extensive damage to the Ford, which had to be towed by Doc’s Towing Services. The Tundra sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
The 30-year-old female driver of the Focus and her 20-year-old passenger, both from St. Louis, sustained injuries. The 62-year-old male driver of the Tundra, from Winfield, MO, suffered moderate injuries. All three were wearing seatbelts and were transported by the Community Fire Protection District to SSM Health DePaul Hospital for treatment.
The St. Ann Police Department assisted at the scene as authorities worked to manage traffic and begin an investigation into the crash.
