Colebrook, CT (January 8, 2026) – A serious crash involving a passenger vehicle and a tow truck resulted in three injuries and a confirmed extrication on Thursday at the intersection of Colebrook River Rd (Old Route 8) and Robertsville Rd in Colebrook. Emergency crews from multiple departments responded to the scene.
Firefighters from Colebrook and Riverton, along with EMS units from Winsted, Norfolk, and Northwest Medics, were dispatched following reports of a crash with entrapment. On arrival, Fire Command confirmed that one individual was trapped and having difficulty breathing.
Extrication teams worked quickly, and the trapped victim was successfully freed and stabilized before the arrival of additional rescue units, including Winsted Squad 5. EMS crews ultimately transported three patients from the scene for further medical evaluation. The severity of their injuries has not yet been publicly disclosed.
