Grandview Plaza, KS (January 8, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision on eastbound Interstate 70 resulted in one person being transported to a local hospital early Thursday morning. The crash occurred near the Marshall Field exit to Fort Riley at approximately 6:22 a.m. on January 7.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1991 Chevrolet S-10 was attempting to turn left onto Marshall Dr after exiting I-70 via Henry Dr. While making the turn, the truck began to spin due to road conditions and struck a 2021 Jeep Compass that was stopped and waiting to enter eastbound I-70.
Emergency medical responders evaluated those involved and transported a passenger from the Jeep to an area hospital. Both drivers were reported uninjured, and all individuals involved were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
The scene was cleared after initial assessments, and traffic in the area resumed normal flow once the vehicles were removed. Authorities continue to monitor road conditions as winter weather may have played a role in the crash.
Our thoughts are with the person injured in this incident, and we hope for a quick and full recovery.
