Miami, FL (January 8, 2026) – A 58-year-old man was injured Wednesday night in a hit-and-run crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Northwest 17th Avenue and 51st Street in Miami. The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m., prompting a Delta-level emergency response.
According to dispatch audio, the man was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene before authorities arrived. Units from the Miami Police Department and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, including Rescue 30 and Engine 12, responded quickly to assist the injured pedestrian.
Medical personnel treated the man at the scene for his injuries, which have not yet been fully disclosed. He was reportedly transported by crews associated with the University of Miami Hospital for further treatment.
