Elgin, IL (January 9, 2026) – One person was injured and transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle collision Thursday morning along South Randall Rd near Weld Rd, prompting a coordinated response from Elgin Fire and EMS crews.
The crash occurred just after 7:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes, slightly north of the intersection. Units from Engine 3, Engine 4, Ambulance 4, and Battalion 1 were dispatched to the scene and quickly established command under “Randall Command.” Upon arrival, crews confirmed the incident involved two vehicles with minor visible damage.
Emergency medical personnel assessed one individual on site who was later transported to Sherman Hospital for further treatment. While the injuries were not classified as severe, paramedics determined transport was necessary out of caution.
Traffic was managed by emergency teams as the investigation and patient care proceeded. The scene was cleared without further incident, and no additional injuries were reported.
