Chicago, IL (January 9, 2026) – A male pedestrian was struck in a hit-and-run crash Thursday afternoon near the intersection of W 83rd St and Ashland Ave, prompting an emergency response from local units.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:47 p.m. on January 8. According to multiple 911 calls, a silver Ford Escape was reported fleeing the scene eastbound on 87th St after striking the individual. Emergency responders arrived shortly after to assist the injured pedestrian.

Medical personnel provided immediate care on-site, though the extent of the man’s injuries has not been officially released. He was later transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Witnesses described the vehicle involved, but no arrests or identifications have been made at this time.
