Culver City, CA (January 10, 2026) – Emergency crews from Culver City Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol responded to a serious two-vehicle collision on Friday afternoon involving a motorcycle and a white Tesla sedan. The crash took place on I-405 South near Washington Blvd at approximately 1:47 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred in the HOV and No. 1 lanes of the southbound freeway. First responders arrived quickly and confirmed the collision had resulted in major injuries. At least one individual sustained significant trauma, though authorities have not yet released the person’s identity or current medical condition.
CHP logs indicate both vehicles required towing from the scene due to the severity of the damage. Several lanes were closed temporarily as emergency personnel rendered aid, documented the crash site, and cleared debris. By 2:57 p.m., all lanes had reopened, though the incident caused substantial delays for I-405 commuters in the Culver City corridor.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation by the California Highway Patrol. Officials will be reviewing speed, lane changes, and right-of-way factors to determine what led to the high-impact collision.
