Sacramento, CA (January 10, 2026) – A pedestrian was killed early Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Folsom Blvd near the Light Rail Station in East Sacramento. The fatal crash occurred just before 7:00 a.m., between the 9300 and 9387 blocks of Folsom Blvd.
California Highway Patrol logs show the incident was first reported at approximately 6:54 a.m. A silver sedan was involved in the crash and struck the pedestrian near the light rail platform, leaving the victim down in the roadway. A caller reported the collision moments later, noting a person was lying in the lanes after being hit.
Emergency responders, including fire crews, arrived shortly after the initial call. The crash was initially categorized as a standard traffic collision, but by 8:56 a.m., the investigation had been reclassified as a fatality after it was confirmed that the pedestrian had died from their injuries.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or the driver involved. At this time, no arrests have been reported in connection with the incident, and the full circumstances remain under investigation.
