How Hit-and-Run Crashes Involving Large Trucks Are Handled
When a vehicle leaves the scene after a crash, it is classified as a hit-and-run incident. These cases often involve reviewing roadway cameras, vehicle debris, and witness accounts to identify the driver who left.
Large trucks can be more difficult to track if identifying details are limited. However, investigators may use traffic cameras and timing data from nearby roads to narrow down possible matches.
Vehicle damage patterns and the position of the cars involved can also help reconstruct how the crash occurred. In cases involving overturned vehicles, rollover dynamics are often reviewed to determine how the impact led to loss of control.
