How Intersection Crashes Often Occur in Local Areas
Crashes at intersections are common, especially during busy afternoon hours. These incidents often happen when drivers misjudge another vehicle’s speed or fail to yield the right of way.
Limited visibility, turning movements, and sudden stops can increase the risk of collisions. Even at lower speeds, vehicles can sustain damage and occupants may still be hurt.
Traffic control devices like stop signs and signals are meant to reduce these risks. Drivers who approach intersections cautiously and stay aware of surrounding traffic are better positioned to avoid sudden impacts.
