Richmond, VA (January 12, 2026) – A woman lost her life Saturday evening after being struck by a vehicle in Richmond’s Blackwell neighborhood, according to local law enforcement.
The fatal crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. at the intersection of Maury St and 19th St, on the city’s Southside. Richmond Police responded after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a westbound vehicle traveling along Maury St.
When officers arrived, they discovered the woman lying unresponsive in the roadway. Emergency crews rendered aid and transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. No charges have been filed at this time, and the identity of the victim has not yet been released pending family notification.
