Peoria, AZ (January 16, 2026) – A pedestrian sustained critical injuries on Thursday morning following a serious accident involving a small transit bus near 75th Ave and Grand Ave in Peoria.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on January 15 along the US 60 corridor. Initial findings indicate that a white bus struck a pedestrian near the intersection, though it remains unclear whether the individual was crossing the roadway or walking along its edge at the time of the collision.
Peoria Police, along with emergency medical personnel, arrived at the scene and provided aid to the injured pedestrian. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Officials have not released the identity of the pedestrian or the driver involved.
The collision prompted a full closure of Grand Ave between 83rd Ave and 75th Ave for several hours as investigators worked to document and examine the scene. At this time, authorities have not confirmed whether impairment, speed, or any other factors contributed to the accident, and no arrests or citations have been issued.
