La Jolla, CA (January 18, 2026) – A traffic collision involving multiple vehicles and several injured individuals occurred Friday afternoon in La Jolla, prompting emergency response and hospital coordination.
Shortly after 5:00 p.m. on January 17, Engine 211 and other first responders arrived at the scene near Genesee Avenue following reports of a multi-patient crash. According to radio communications, four individuals were involved and sustained what were initially described as “green” level injuries—indicating minor trauma.
Emergency medical services coordinated with Scripps La Jolla Hospital to facilitate the transport of all four patients. Crews communicated details through Medcom to ensure proper intake and assignment for incoming trauma care.
At this time, the cause of the crash has not been publicly released, and it is unclear how many vehicles were directly involved. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
