Jackson, MO (January 18, 2026) – A teenage driver sustained injuries following a two-vehicle accident Friday morning on US-40 at Southwest Bowlin Rd, prompting medical transport and roadside response from local agencies in Jackson County.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:04 a.m. and involved an eastbound 2023 Ram 2500 and a 2007 Honda CR-V. According to reports from Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when the driver of the Ram attempted an improper lane change and struck the side of the Honda.
The 19-year-old male driver of the Ram, a Kansas City resident, was wearing a seatbelt at the time and suffered injuries. He was transported to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment. The second driver, a 28-year-old man from Independence, was not reported injured.
The Honda sustained moderate damage and was secured roadside, while the Ram incurred only minor damage and was driven away from the scene. Both vehicles had been traveling eastbound prior to the collision.
Investigators are reviewing the cause of the lane change and related driving behavior. No further details have been released, but the accident remains under official review.
