Fort Wayne, IN (January 18, 2026) – A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle on W Coliseum Blvd, prompting a response from Fort Wayne police and emergency medical personnel.
The incident occurred shortly after 11:00 p.m., in the 3700 block of Coliseum Blvd, just east of the intersection with Hillegas Rd. When officers arrived, they found the male pedestrian conscious but seriously injured, lying on the pavement. Medics provided immediate care at the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital in life-threatening condition.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained on scene and cooperated fully with authorities. Preliminary findings indicate that neither speed nor alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team has taken over the investigation. Officials are working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
