Indianapolis, IN (January 18, 2026) – A serious crash with injuries was reported near the intersection of W Morris St and Prairie Depot in Indianapolis, involving a vehicle that struck a utility pole and overturned.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:05 p.m. According to dispatch reports, a gray sedan collided with a utility pole and flipped onto its side. The vehicle was reported to be leaking fluids, with initial reports indicating possible entrapment. Responding units from the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) and EMS were quickly dispatched to assist those trapped inside.
The crash caused significant damage, including the complete shearing of a utility pole, resulting in downed power lines across the area. Emergency crews established a blockade on the westbound Prairie Depot to ensure scene safety while IPL (Indianapolis Power & Light) crews were called in to address the live wires and restore infrastructure.
Authorities have not yet confirmed how many individuals were injured or the extent of those injuries, though responders remained on scene to extricate and treat the occupants.
